Belgium
Quarter-final: Belgium vs Italy (2 July)
Predicted line-up: Courtois; Alderweireld, Vermaelen, Vertonghen; T. Hazard, Witsel, Tielemans, Meunier; E. Hazard/Mertens, Lukaku, Carrasco/De Bruyne
Alyssa Saliou, Belgium reporter: Roberto Martínez always emphasises continuity so, with plenty of days between last-16 and quarter-final fixtures, any changes are likely to be enforced. There are two big question marks: Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne. Both were forced off against Portugal and while Hazard is back in individual training, De Bruyne is confined to gym work.

Quarter-final: Czech Republic vs Denmark (3 July)
Predicted line-up: Vaclík; Coufal, Čelůstka, Kalas, Kadeřábek; Holeš, Souček; Masopust, Barák, Ševčík; Schick
Ondřej Zlámal, Czech Republic reporter: The three players brought into the starting XI against Netherlands impressed so much that is hard to imagine that coach Jaroslav Šilhavý will return them to the bench. But there could be a great dillemma about the left-back slot between Pavel Kadeřábek and Jan Bořil. But the old adage goes: do not change a winning line-up. That might be useful again.

Sture Sandø, Denmark reporter: Denmark are on a roll, and they are flying on wings of marvellous national support and their own great performances, but they are facing a big challenge. The Czechs must not be underestimated, but there is no fear that coach Kasper Hjulmand and his team will do that. Hjulmand has pulled aces like Damsgaard and Dolberg out his sleeve already and he said earlier this week that he is not done with the surprises.

Predicted line-up: Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Spinazzola; Barella, Jorginho, Verratti; Chiesa, Immobile, Insigne
Paolo Menicucci, Italy reporter: Giorgio Chiellini should be fit to play after missing two games with a thigh injury, and Roberto Mancini is expected to welcome the captain back in anticipation of a physical duel with Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku. Matteo Pessina and Federico Chiesa are pushing for a place in the starting XI after scoring as substitutes against Austria, with the latter having a great chance to start in attack ahead of Domenico Berardi.

Spain
When Switzerland and Spain met last year
Quarter-final: Switzerland vs Spain (2 July)
Predicted line-up: Unai Simón; Azpilicueta, Eric García, Laporte, Jordi Alba; Koke, Busquets, Pedri; Sarabia, Morata, Ferran Torres
Graham Hunter, Spain reporter: Luis Enrique is not someone hugely disposed either to allowing the media to predict his selections, nor to repeat a winning side simply because of the last result. I reckon Jordi Alba was only rested and probably returns. There's a clear case that Gerard Moreno and Dani Olmo have opportunities to come in but the right foot-left foot combination which started, Eric García and Aymeric Laporte, should repeat at centre-back. Minimum changes for this big test, I reckon.
Round of 16: Croatia 3-5 Spain (aet) (28 June)

Switzerland
Quarter-final: Switzerland vs Spain (2 July)
Predicted line-up: Sommer; Elvedi, Akanji, Rodríguez; Widmer, Freuler, Zakaria, Zuber; Shaqiri; Embolo, Seferović
Vieri Capretta, Switzerland reporter: Vladimir Petković will keep as close as he can to the XI that saw off Turkey and France, but will be without suspended captain Granit Xhaka. Kevin Mbabu is another option on the right, and while Mario Gavranović has impressed he may be best reserved as an impact sub.

Quarter-final: Ukraine vs England (3 July)
Predicted line-up: Bushchan; Karavaev, Zabarnyi, Kryvtsov, Matviyenko, Zinchenko; Sydorchuk, Stepanenko, Shaparenko; Yarmolenko, Yaremchuk
Bogdan Buga, Ukraine reporter: Andriy Shevchenko switched to a hybrid 3-5-2/5-3-2 formation against Sweden, and his plan worked pretty well, so expect Ukraine to set up in a similar way against England, with a three-man defence. Further changes to the starting XI against Sweden may be forced by injuries or exhaustion following Tuesday's exhausting 120 minutes in Glasgow.
