Wait until Lady Whistledown hears about this! Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne on Bridgerton, addressed Regé-Jean Page leaving the show in a new interview. Scroll on for more.
Burning to hear Phoebe Dynevor's take on Regé-Jean Page's Bridgerton exit? Well, dear readers, you're in luck. The 26-year-old actress broke her silence on the 31-year-old actor's departure during the May 20 episode of the Variety Awards Circuit Podcast.
"I had a bit of a heads up, so I knew. But yeah, I guess it is a spanner," she said. "But again, the show centers around the Bridgertons and there are eight books. And I think maybe the fans of the books were more aware of that happening than the fans of the show. Because I think the fans of the books know that every episode is about a different sibling. And we're very much passing on the baton to the lovely Johnny [Bailey], who plays Anthony and that will be the main storyline of season two and the story arc of season two."
As Dynevor noted, the period drama is based on Julia Quinn's novels and each focuses on one of the eight Bridgerton siblings. The first book centers on Dynevor's character Daphne Bridgerton, who is just entering the social season in 19th century London, and her relationship with Page's character the Duke of Hastings Simon Basset. The second book, and therefore season, focuses on Anthony Bridgerton. And while Daphne, who is now happily married to Simon, will help her brother navigate the social season, there is less focus on her relationship with the duke.
Even though fans of the books may have seen Page's exit coming based on the novels' plots, it didn't make the news of his departure any easier when it was announced in April that he wouldn't be returning for season two.
"Obviously, it's sad to see [Page] go," Dynevor said, "but I'm looking forward to being reunited with my family."
Still, she'll always have fond memories of working with Page. "I remember shooting the last scene in episode one where Regé and I have, like, our first dance together," Dynevor recalled. "And I remember thinking, 'Wow, this feels kind of special.' There were, like, fireworks going off behind us and it was, like, really romantic music. It felt like a really special moment, but you never know if it's going to come out on camera and the audience is going to feel that buzz, too. It's hard to tell."
Viewers certainly did. The show became Netflix's biggest series ever. In fact, it's already been renewed through season four and there's a spinoff in the works. And as Page told Variety in April, he always knew his character's storyline would be a "one-season arc" and "then the Bridgerton family rolls on."
"I have nothing but excitement for Bridgerton continuing to steam train off and conquer the globe," he said at the time. "But there is also value in completing these arcs and sticking the landing."
Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi announced that they are expecting their first child earlier this week.
Princess Beatrice is getting ready for motherhood!
Just one day after the royal, who is the daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, announced she and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expecting their first baby together, the couple was spotted out in London. Princess Beatrice's growing baby bump can be spotted beneath her red dress and black coat in the new photo.
The couple announced their big news with a tweet from the official Royal Family Twitter account, which read, "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year. The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."
Despite being ninth in line for England's throne, the couple's child will receive a royal title thanks to Edoardo's lineage. In fact, the real estate developer is an Italian count.
"Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation," Edoardo's father Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi explained to the Daily Mail. "He is a count, his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna."
Princess Beatrice married Edoardo, who shares his son Christopher with his former partner Dara Huang, in a private ceremony last July. The couple had postponed their nuptials by several months due to the coronavirus pandemic, and ultimately tied the knot less than a year after announcing their engagement. Edoardo popped the question during the couple's trip to Italy in September 2019.
"We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement," the couple shared in a statement at the time. "We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness."
Now, they'll have one more adventure to prepare for together: parenthood.
From the seemingly endless exposed wood ceilings to the massive crystal chandelier, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' modern farmhouse is a sight to behold. Luckily, they opened the doors to see inside.
It's not everyday you see an entertainment barn with a massive crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
But at Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher's breathtaking farmhouse, seated on six acres of Los Angeles land, it's one of the many sights to behold. Thanks to a new feature for Architectural Digest, the beloved pair opened their doors and gave fans a look inside the place they and their two kids, 6-year-old Wyatt and 4-year-old Dimitri, call home. In fact, the children are a special part of the house's story as the actress was pregnant with Wyatt when they started the process of building the home.
Five years later, their vision was complete. "We wanted the house to look like an old barn," Kutcher explained to AD, "something that had been here for decades, that was then converted into a house. But it also had to feel modern and relevant."
While the photos are the only way to do the house true justice, allow us to to try with some descriptors. Scrolling through the pictures, you'll see a masterful mix of country and contemporary, echoed in the exposed wood ceilings, walls and floors throughout the property as well as their entertainment barn and barbecue pavilion.
But, just when you might forget two celebrities live here, the plush green sofas and throne chair—designed by Kutcher himself during a trip to India—seated next to the bathtub will remind you that you're in the domain of Hollywood A-listers. And, if those seem subdued, like we mentioned, there's the crystal chandelier, too, serving as another incredibly glamorous element.
Still, like the down-to-earth twosome they've always seemed to be, even the design process featured a relatable step: personal Pinterest boards.
"Building a house from the ground up is no small thing," Kunis pointed out. "This was either going to make us or break us." Fortunately for their sake—and fans'—there was harmony. "When we looked at each other's boards," Kutcher recalled, "90 percent of the images we selected were the same."
While we'll be busy pinning photos of their house to our own Pinterest boards, see more snaps inside it here.
