Unfortunately like our favorite devil, we do not lie: the fiery & heartwarming show will be coming to a close sooner than we’d like.
Lucifer has had quite the journey. From many near cancellations to a shift to Netflix, the show has always kept both its incredible storyline and fanbase intact. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, as Netflix announced that, after the debut of season 5B, season 6 of the show will be the last we see of our loveable devil.
To stave off sadness, we dove through the nine circles and found the most memorable quotes from the show. Grab your pitchforks and dive into the best quotes from Lucifer before Netflix pulls the plug.
Who else would we start with but the Devil himself? It is his show, after all.
Throughout its run, Lucifer has changed & grown, both through his own self-reflection and the help of his friends. He proves that it is never too late to change or make amends for past actions. He also proves that you can be sassy and hilarious while doing it through these incredible quotes that have made us laugh, cry, and think.
“I’m like walking heroin. Very habit-forming. It never ends well.”
“People don’t have power over us. We give it to them.”
“People don’t arrive broken. They start with passion and yearning till something comes along that disabuses them of those notions.”
“Sometimes we are what we are, and we should embrace that.”
Otherwise known simply as “Detective”, Chloe has been a devil of a dynamo.
Insightful & funny, sweet & strong, Chloe has been the leading lady we have been waiting for. She, along with Lucifer, has stopped many criminals in their tracks while also reminding us how it is never too late to find love and open your heart again.
These quotes show just why, of all the million on Earth, it was Chloe Decker who stole the Devil’s heart.
“You have to stop taking responsibility for things you can’t control.”
“You know, if you spent as much time appealing to suspects as you do annoying me, things might go a lot faster.”
“It’s better to move forward than stay stuck in the past.”
“Do not touch the charred crotch. Is a sentence I never thought I’d say out loud.”
Maze a.k.a Mazikeen Smith
Hell’s best torturer, bounty hunter, and babysitter, Maze can do it all.
She has kicked major butt on screen, both physically and emotionally as she has grown. She’s helped us learn that love is not a weakness and is, if anything, a major thing to have in your corner. From her lovely relationship with Trixie to her and Eve’s tragic end (though we hope that Season 6 has time to work that out) Maze has proven that she has a heart under all that leather.
Some of her best quotes, both sentimental and side splitting, include:
“Hey! No one calls my skank a skank.”
“This is the craziest plan I’ve ever heard. I’m in.”
“Sometimes you have to accept when someone doesn’t feel the same way about you.”
“If you go by someone else’s pace, it shows how much you really care.”
Who can forget our favorite punching bag (and one of the most noticeable recasts in recent television history) Detective D@&che.
In all seriousness, Dan has grown from stereotypical jilted love interest to an actual person with real development. His relationship with Charlotte, his growing tolerance of Lucifer and his own emotional journey have made him into a loveable character in his own right. He proves that, no matter what, you can change and heal from past hurts.
His quotes always make us laugh (mostly at his expense) with a few tearjerkers, but one thing is certain: he’s always a mood.
Dan Espinoza: “What in God’s name are you doing here?”
Lucifer Morningstar: “Nothing in His name. Here on my own, actually.”
Dan (to Lucifer): “Dude, I cannot deal with your weirdness right now.”
Mazikeen: “You’re a cop and you don’t have your gun?”
Dan Espinoza: “I’m supposed to be on vacation.”
Mazikeen: “A boring one, apparently.”
Dan Espinoza (talking to himself): “How can I even eat this after what I’ve seen? Is someone trying to tell me something?”
Lucifer Morningstar: “Well, if He is, don’t let Him inside your head. Learn from my mistakes, Daniel.”
